Towards a black-box for biological EXAFS data analysis – III. A universal post-processor for fluorescence XAS: KEMP2
نویسندگان
چکیده
Because of the typically rather low trace element concentrations in biological samples XAS is collected in fluorescence mode with the help of a multi-element detector. In addition, several scans have to be accumulated and thus post-processing operations have to be carried out after the measurement, e.g. selecting good detector channels, checking for radiation damage, fitting of background and normalization. KEMP2 is a freely available post-processor implementing all these steps, while maintaining universal applicability by separating the instrumentand beamline-dependent steps like energy-calibration etc. from XAS-generic tasks. Thus, KEMP2 has the potential to serve as a highly automated data pipeline assisting both senior and novice users.

Towards a black-box for biological EXAFS data analysis. II. Automatic BioXAS Refinement and Analysis (ABRA).
In biological systems, X-ray absorption spectroscopy (XAS) can determine structural details of metal binding sites with high resolution. Here a method enabling an automated analysis of the corresponding EXAFS data is presented, utilizing in addition to least-squares refinement the prior knowledge about structural details and important fit parameters. A metal binding motif is characterized by th...

The ABS2 sulphides (A=Cu, or Ag), B=As, Sb, Bi) are a naturally occurring group of minerals, typically found in polymetallic vein deposits. Behind chemically simple, the minerals have a complex structure and undergo several temperature/composition phase transitions. In this study, synchrotron radiation is used to collect Ag, As, Bi, Cu, Cd, Hg and Sb K-edge EXAFS data from a series of synthetic...

Interactions between Cd, pillared clays and chalcogenedies have been studied using nanomineralogical experiments. XRD, DSC and chemical analysis. The synchrotron-based X-ray absorption spectroscopy (XAS) was applied to characterize the reaction phases. The mean bond lengths between, Cd-S, Fe-S, Sb-S, Cd-Cd (in chalcogenedies), Al-Cd, Cd-Ti, and Fe-Cd, (in pillared clays) were determined by XAS ...
